doesn't the 360 still require the cd?

No, it's an install that mimics the XBL interface.

From what I understand. The Blu-Ray disc is to give streamed movies BD-Live content.

No way. It would be awesome if they could use this to allow us to view bonus features but i dont think Netflix servers contain that material. That would be an immense step forward to streaming overall if the disc allowed bonus material or menue options, but i dont think its possible unless netflix overhauls their streaming sytem.

strange, i know my friend had a netflix cd at one point.
I must have been mistaken.
I still don't understand why they can't just install the cd data.

I stand by what I said.

VGChartz's own article confirms the BD-Live content with that free disc.

It never did.  It became available when the 360 got the NXE update.

Good that it is going to the PS3.  The disc sounds annoying, but I doubt that is the permanent solution.  I use Netflix on my 360 all the time.  It's awesome.  It would be a nice fit for the Wii too, but I wonder if there are any technical barriers there.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

is this going to replace the currant movie rental system ps3 already has? cuz i dont see my self paying 3.99 a movie when i can pay twice that and get unlimited streaming movies.
