You wouldn't call Vampire Rain a real technical masterpiece because it limps over the finish line of looking better than most last generation games would you? I hope not. If you take a litteral interpretation of 'if it sold systems then its a system seller' then its meaningless so either Uncharted 2 is a system seller and the distinction is meaningless or Uncharted 2 isn't a system seller and the distinction is meaningful.

It doesn't matter what kind of system seller you choose to label it. Be it big, significant, or small, the fact remains, Uncharted 2 sold PS3s and caused a 19% increase in PS3's weakest territory. Nothing left to say really, just accept these conditions.


I started this crap but I just wanted to be clear that if we consider the bump Uncharted 2 gave the PS3 was a system seller then you cannot say MW2 isn't because it will bump sales for the 360 in a similar manner.  Yes it should lso bump the PS3 sales a little too but not as much given most people claim there is a broader demographic on the PS3 that aren't shooter orientated.  I just wanted to point out how crazy and to use your own words hypocritical for users on here to dismiss the game being a system seller.  Those who believe it isn't obviously think there will be no bump in console sales which is madness, this is the biggest game of the year and will be advertised to death!

Once again I still think the article is miles off in their prediction though.

This is the 5th COD game to be released for the 360 and the 4th for PS3. Just keep that in mind.

GTA IV didn't push any consoles. MW2 shouldn't either.

GTA4 did push consoles but it was bundled. The first of the generation. and was coming off a 22 million copy selling game.

There has been CoD2, CoD3, CoD4, CoD:WaW, and now CoD:MW2 all on the same console... 3 of which are multiplat for current generation systems. The game isnt nearly as popular as GTA and not to mention GTA came out 1.5 years ago. Not only that but no other major games fall into the GTA genre. On the 360 there is also Halo 3 and Halo ODST in the same genre.

Uncharted 2 did sell systems. The PS3 was leveling off a slim and price cut effect. It's no coincidence the system rose the same week it launched. It should have fallen even more.

actually stayed high 200k for a while.

This will be a big no. Multiplat game, and it has had an iteration on consoles already.

I think you're miles off with that statement mate, CoD is now an iconic FPS series not unlike the aura Quake and Doom used to carry for purely PC gamers.

maybe in the US but world wide not, dont forget people will be buying consoles for the ps3 version too, ok maybe not as many but it will lessen whatever gap the bundles on th 360 will make

Not a chance unless they bundle it and drop the price to $50 for the bundle. The 360 has had it's day this gen time for a change from micrsoft it will never get above any of the other consoles worldwide now. I predict a green x360 at the bottom of the sales on the main page for the rest of it's life this gen

I want to go out on a limb here and say YES it will...

If i wasn't on the forums, websites, and up on gaming news, but just a regular pick up and play kinda gamer...i'd mistake Modern Warfare 2 being a X360 exclusive. Infinity Ward themselves are sure making it "seem" like it. Remember even at E3? I mean...seriously...it's so exclusive-esque to the X360 console, that it will push consoles, and sales considerable for Xbox.
