Forums - General - (UFC) Anybody watch the Machida vs 'Shogun' fight?

Did anybody watch the fight? Shogun won that fight HANDS DOWN, the 3 judges scored it 48-47 unanimously for Machida...WTF?! WHAT MATCH WERE THEY WATCHING? It almost feels like UFC is starting to become like boxing, fixing fights just so they could get a bigger draw for the rematch. Going into the fight I thought that Machida was going to win (and I wanted him to) but seeing the fight, I felt that Shogun should've won and I was pissed off he didnt, as a fan of the sport, I felt like I was cheated. I mean, throughout the whole fight, Shogun pushed the fight and connected way more hits than Machida....This is some bull. (I highly doubt anybody will respond, just needed to get that out there).

I didn't get to watch it. All my UFC friends are out of town or moved away. How was the breakdown of the fight? You say Shogun connected more, but was this mainly a striking contest or was there major ground work also? If Machida had him on the floor in holds a good portion of the match, you know they always score them well for controlling their opponents on the floor.

How were the other matches? I was especially interested in the Velasquez fight. What do you think? Is he good enough to square off with Lesnar or Carwin in the future?

Edit: I just read the results. I can't believe Yushin Okami lost.

Tag: Became a freaking mod and a complete douche, coincidentally, at the same time.

I caught a few rounds of it on youtube. I could see how some could think Rua had the edge in rd 5, or even rd 3(stronger for machida here), but I could see how some could think machida had the edge. Anyways, show some maturity and ease up on the silly "fixed fight" cry. From all I've saw and read, there was no way this fight was a "hands down" victory for Rua.
