Forums - Sony - Insomniac: FANS believe Resistance 2 'was a FAILURE' - Agree/Disagree?!

@Staude - I agree with your Resistance 1 statement. It was good. It felt strange at the beginning with no medikits.. I thought, where are they?? But it improved alot and became a good game.

Resistance 2 for me felt awkward, uneven. Something was missing...proper gameplay mechanics. At one point I felt I was dying more often than I was playing the game. Also it felt strange how the enemy would always point there guns at you rather than your comrades...very strange.

Resistance 2 was a great disapointment to me. It had flashes of brilliance but overall they took the package backwards. They had huge monsters yes, but the made them impotent. They had scary invisible guys but they overused them and made them annoying. They had an interesting story, but they killed all hope because it was like everyone died at the end of R2 and theres no need for a sequel as the aliens had won anyway. They had great fun weapons but I could never justify carrying them as they got rid of the weapon wheel.

In short they attached a negative to every positive in the game for me.

Tease.

It wasn't a failure. It just didn't meet all its expectations and hype.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

i thought R2 was way better than R1....i loved it

i like R:FOM much more the R2 so in that regard it failed but the game itself was good... this is why u dont listen to critics and there crap like it needs a better "colour palette" they took everything i liked out of R2 that i loved in R:FOM

Well at least Insomniac listens to their fans. It's better than most developers out there.

@Rath

i think thats the problem they listen a bit to much

Those asking for the old health system back...its not going to happen if would contradict parts of the storyline if they did..unless a new protagonist is introduced or R3 is a prequel

Yeah I found that broke the immersion a lot.

Check out my game about moles ^

i belive the single player in the first in lots of ways was better than the second, better storytelling, longer and could carry lots of guns at once which was fun. Though the second multiplayer was so much better, 60 people online, start the game wih your gun instead of picking up guns, and lots more stuff.
