Forums - Sony - Sony and their proprietary formats can kiss my a...

Im sorry if I sound a little pissed here...but thats cause I am.

So I bought a PSP Go today.

$250 is quite steep but I figured it could replace my current PSP for gaming, my Zune for music and video playing and I guess its worth 50 bucks if I sell those 2 for 100 bucks each.

Yeah 16 GB is quite small for my audio collection alone, as I have 60 GB of music, let alone my gaming and videos on top. But not to worry, I own an 8GB and 4 GB memory stick that I use with my current PSP.

But hold on...PSP go does not support memory stick!?!? It needs memory stick micro...

Thats a very greedy move Sony. Memory stick was introduced what 4-5 years ago? And its just starting to come down in price and cost similar to an SD card memory... So I'm supposed to spend another 100 bucks on extra memory when I own a Sony proprietary memory card? Complete BS.

PSP Go is on its way back to Future Shop. They can sell their recycled hardware to someone else...

Can't you just use the regular PSP for all that stuff?

I could...but the thing is kinda bulky. You cant jog with a PSP without looking like a retard.

And 16 gig internal memory is nice to have. Having 10 memory sticks you swap depending on what you want to do is annoying...

I figured I will stick with the PSP 1000 I have...and order a Zune HD. I'd get the Zune but they dont sell them in Canada...I'll jsut go to Buffalo for a weekend or get it off ebay then.

Even Sony fanboys say that it is stupid to buy a PSP GO;...Why did you have to buy one WHY!! And still 250$ thought it had a price reduction one week after it launched...

This is why I'm yet to buy a Sony Camera/Camcorder and strongly advise people against it. The memory is super expensive and it is always good to buy a lot of it for those kinds of devices. Also, the inability to share across multiple devices is always a down side. If their proprietary memory was same/cheaper in price to SD it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Well its going back to the store. Its still 250 here in Canada.

I would have been ok with 250 considering I would have sold the Zune and PSP to make up the cost, but 350 to get the memory I want to have is just lame. I can get the brand new 32 Ipod Touch with camera and loads of features for 299...or 32 gig Zune HD for same price.

Why would you want to jog with a PSP? I mean really..

lol PSP go sucks, i dont understand why anyone would choose it over a better PSP-3000, Just cause it looks like an Ipod doesnt make it better.

If it becomes my media player and I don't have the zune anymore I need to jog with it... I like to listen to music while I run. PSP go is small enough to run with and it being flash memory means that shaking should not harm the unit.

So you bought one without knowing it uses Micro memory stick? Eventho many think PSP Go is a bad move, but that was a bad move on your part.
