Forums - Gaming - Sony's Patented Motion Controler 2.0 is the *nunchuck*

Just now put on the front page is an artical that shows a New Sony Patent "Hand Held Motion Controler"

Notice its Hand Held NOT Handheld so it is NOT for the PSP.

you know what this is?

well its the PS3 version (or at least the prototype) of Nintendo's NUNCHUCK.

this is probably in response to the completely negative responses for the need of a regular PS3 controler to move around (as seen in resident evil 5: advanced Edition)

it seems pretty obvious to me...

in the RE5:AE you use the D-pad to move aruond not a joystick.

Look at the top of this item...its obviously a D-Pad.

Case Closed...Sony listens to us.

god i am good at making topics...yup im conceeded.

and if i had to guess the final version of this will have a joystick very similar to the ones found on a PSP for much more precise movement..or both a D-Pad and Joystick for fighter preferences.

No analog stick on the patents

But why didn't they add it immediately if it was intended to replace the PS3 dualshock controller?  They know that they need a stick, so why only a D-pad?

i hope it isnt, because i want a anolog not a d-pad

Perhaps there is going to be a stick on the main controller? why did the RE devs use the D-pad on the regular PS3 controler for the advanced version and not the stick?

Ssliasil. Pick up a dual sock in one hand, put your thumb on the analogue stick. Move the analogue stick around until it starts hurting. This should be a matter of a couple of minutes.

Good to see them bringing out out something like this

Reasoning in the thread makes sense. Guess we won't have sore thumbs after all.

touche Scottie.....touche
