Congratulations you cold cocked the thread with that remark. You just triple dog dared the entire Sony fanboy base. They backed down I am shocked I would have thought that would have stuck their tongue on the poll. Then again you voiced their secret fear.

Really, people there is no need to add insult to injury. Everyone knows where Sony is at. Sony intends to fight in 2008...
Sony's sales are no more or less interesting then they were since the 3rd week after the console's release.

LOL. With the way games are being made on PC changing dramatically in the next 3 years. Both 360 and PS3 will be entirely obselete by 2011 in terms of graphics. ( GPU's are to take on alot more processing off of the CPU. Of which niether console is capable of.)
I've got to admit that sales of the PS3 here in America are starting to get worrying. I don't honestly care if Sony ever 'wins' anything this generation. However, I do want them to do well enough that the PS3 continues to receive development support from third parties and survive as a viable platform.
We are currently in the fourth week of October and it's starting to look like the PS3's monthly total will end up being in the same ballpark as the 360's weekly average. The system looks like it'll end up with another 120k month while the 360 is selling over 120k a week - and any effect on the sales from Halo is probably dying down now. The holiday season seems to be starting for every console except for the PS3.
I know that Ratchet and Clank Future and Uncharted (as well as the big third party multi-platform games) combined with the months of November and December and the new $400 PS3 will help move some units this holiday season - but it's honestly not looking like it'll be enough.
Up until now, the PS3 has been tracking fairly well with the 360's first year of sales... but it looks like it's about to be left behind in the dust. This is bad news for gamers everywhere as less competition is always bad for the industry.

It's called company PR, which should always be taken with a grain of salt the size of Mount Fuji. They're on track to sell around 7 million to retailers in the first calendar year of the PS3, and they're aiming for 14 million in the second year, I think. It all depends on how fast BluRay and HDTV take off.

The 360 had more to do with increasing HDtv sales. They went up dramatically when the 360 came out.

Nope, that's not PR. These are numbers that are printed in their financial reports.

So when did illegally "Cooking the Books" become a good PR move?
I guess everyone knows who Enron is now though ...
