I will probably stick to last years (method 1) I was just thinking about how it can affect things though.... so I will only change if people have an objection to last years.

I like the hybrid method

The current method favors underpredicting because you can never be off by more than 100% while overpredicting in theory has no limit. This could have a major influence on the outcome if some platform has an unexpected extremely low week.

If I use the combined method it is possible to get 100 points either way.... as an example, if the real figure is 1,000,000 units, to get 100 points when you under-predict, your prediction would have to be 414,214 (though I m only allowing multiples of 5, so to get over 100 points you would have to predict 410k)
To get 100 points when you over-predict your prediction would need to be 2,414.214 (or 2,415k to go over)

Or in other words it is now proportional to whatever the real figure turns out to be.... if you predict double you get the same points as someone who predicts half, which is in fact 75 points (I actually thought that was what method 2 did, but I clearly got that wrong)


So it gives a little extra lee-way to those who over-predict, but starts to penalise those who underpredict more

I have just applied the combining method to last years scores.... I will add them next to what last years scores were.

So it does nothing at all to the overall rank (but then with only 8 of us there can't be that much shuffling)

So there is some shuffling in the console specific tables:

In the Wii ranks, Pineapple(Oyvoyvoyv) moves from 4th to 2nd, and Zucas from 2nd to 4th. I move up from 7th to 6th and Skeezer down from 6th to 7th.

In PS3 Darth and DMJ swap places... they are very close for both score methods though.

In X360 I swap with Skeezer to take the top spot, then BHR-3 and Zucas are tied, so push Pineapple down to 8th.

No! I lost 360 top spot

So basically there are no major changes in last years outcomes using either method? I guess you should pick the easiest one to use then.
