Whoa, low blow against FF there :P But yeah, the funeral scene is one of the best i've ever seen on a RPG ;)

Lost Odyssey is a cool game but it's just so cheesy at moments this completely ruins the experience, i've got mixed feelings about it.

Personally, I thought the funeral scene was the single worst scene of any game I've ever played. Melodramatic to the point of absurdity, and neither the script nor the acting was up to the task of making it feel meaningful. Also, nearly all the characters involved were introduced just before it happens, so there was no time to build any emotional investment in them. It would have been okay if it was just a quick scene, but it lasts over an hour.

I'm glad you guys were able to enjoy it, though; guess I'm the odd one out.

(On the other hand, some of the "Thousand Years of Dreams" stories were extremely moving and well-written. I teared up while reading several of them.)

I was reading somewhere that they went and got a popular Japanese short story writer to write the dream sequences, and it really shows if you ask me.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I think you mistook the humour for cheesiness. Those parts are done on purpose.
