Forums - Gaming - Forza Motorsport 3 vs Gran Turismo 5 damage comparison

As far as GT5 damage I'll wait and see . Yet comparing with games that just came out dirt 2 has the best looking damage by far in my opinion.

I notice the hit on the right side blew off the paint on the left side in Forza 3. It's like when George of the Jungle hit a tree it blows the bark off on the opposite side.

Looks cool but not in game.

If you gonna argue crap like this post real photos with hud and everything.

Or save it till guess what, Both games come out.

None of the GT5 pictures are either.... At least leave him even the playing field a bit.

and your point is.

What. This is ingame, just a snapshot of someones replay. This is not mocked up or cgi. This is what happens to your car ingame. Exactly. Follow video proves it to.

Notice both rear and front bumpers come off, as well as partial side plates? And the roll over physics in full affect, damaging the roof? The pic I posted is paerfectly fine bro.

Here another from actual gameplay footage. Notice the rear bumper taken clean off? And the other car rolls it?

F3 has fake visual damage. PD is working on real visual damage for GT5 it was shown behind closed doors.

Fixed for accuracy.

 yahh ha sure.

They are working on real damage not that prerendered visual stuff of forza some of you love so much.  Thats the differance between Gt and Forza fanbase, one is fine with fake as long as its eye pleasing the other wants real damage with physics behind.  Damage as in aredynamics all out of whack messed up camber alignment.

Look at the speed the cars crash in forza streight into a wall like that would tottal the car, its just so damn fake.  Great racer but no sim, Gt strives to be as good a sim as possible Forza does not.

As much as they are said to go after the same people they don't.  GT goes for the auto enthusiast while Forza the 16 year old that wants stickers and a big wing on his car.

Iam not saying pd will mnage to do what thye want surely not on all the cars.  But id rather have real damage on the race cars then fake stuff on everything.

Hell id rather have a wind tunnel ingame to mess with aero stuff then all the body kits and damge stuff.  My car would not go past 200kph but damn it woudl stick during cornering.  But thats just me.

No I am not fine with the crappy damage in F3.  I wanted so much more.  BUT I still know its gonna be such an amazing game, even if it doesn't have great visual damage (at least the mechanical damage is ace)

And btw stop with you GT elitist BS  Both games are striving to be the best they can within their limits,  both games will cater to the same car enthusiast fanbase, and both games are gonna be really really good.

I have a hard time listening to any Gran Turismo fan call another game's damage fake when Gran Turismo has yet to release a game with damage yet.

Also, they could've done a better job at at least trying to get the Forza 3 shots to match the GT 5 shots. When you have a screenie of GT 5 in the sunlight, using a Forza 3 shot in the shade is pretty stupid.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

GT3 had mechanical damage iirc, just not cosmetic/visual.

But yeah, this comparison in the op seems pretty pointless

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

I'm sure if selnor really loves his racing sim, he'd buy GT5 when it comes out anyways. not like PS3 is expensive anymore.

the way i see it....

Forza over does it....ever watch racing on TV....you dont see primer and fiber glass like you do on forza...maybe a little...but not like that...but then again...it is a video game...so a little dramatization wouldn't hurt...

GT doesn't do enough...i guess they still want to make the car look as pretty as possible even if it is all banged up....
