Forums - Sony - Uncharted 2 EDGE review ! How could they ?

9/10 is still good. But i'll say that uncharted has had more precise scores vs well other games which have the same avg review score. Mostly all reviewers have given the game 9.x or above for uncharted 2, so that means its very precise to say its a very good game. Compared to halo 3 odst where the scores are literally all over the place, you cant really tell whether its a very good game or not even though it has a positive avg review score. The Highest for ODST is a 96 while the lowest is 42, yea... (metacritic)

Having said, you cant really complain at EDGE for giving it a 9 and a 9 only, it means that while they dont think its the absolute best game they've played, they still think its a very good game. Kudos to that.

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

I agree, too often the cohesion of scores on sites like metacritic is ignored.  The other problem with Metacritic (well, one of many really) is that it tries to take differing scales and collate them - this means for Edge, everything jumps in 10% from one score to the next (70%, 80%, 90%, etc) while other sites might award 9.5.  With metacritic always seeming to have an inconsistent number of reviews per title (another big, big issue) the average can easily waver around.

In other words, if you're going to look at an average, understand what's behind it.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
