Actually it could be cool if the twist the story so you are assassinating people on both sides of the war and you could choose at the end between assassinating hitler or roosevelt. Also no guns pure stealth. French revolution would b best tho, ACIII could be the end or they could go on to wwII afterwards.

An assassin's creed game might be fun, but not another standard shooter though. I'd rather play a modern game than a WW2 game.

well what interesting events happen after the renaissance? american revolution? US Civil War? WW1?

why not World War I or inquisition time in Rome/Vatican? or maybe more asia feel into the series there's a load of interesting events in Japanese and Chinese history.
