I had it sitting in the cart, even clicked "buy it for myself".
Then I closed Steam. The temptation is too great.

BTS is a requirement for most, if not all, the mods out there. oh, I forgot to mention a Romance of the Three Kingdoms mod, I didn't play it but it's supposed to be good and they added a lot of stuff to the game as well. there are also a lot of "complete", "realism", etc. mods, but I'm not really a fan of those. you can find them all at civfanatics. Rhye's and Fall and FFH2 are the best IMO |
RTK mod you say? I'll have to download that. Now I just need to remember my old Civ Fanatics password....

not really a RTK mod, but actually a Three Kingdoms mod - it's called History of the Three Kingdoms: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=304872

Same difference more or less. Except Cao Cao is much less of a dick and Liu Bei much more one.

Oh, if anyone new to Civ (or haven't played in a while) is picking this up, I suggest learning the game before expansions (BTS in particular). When trying to get one of my friends into it, he found it was too complicated - there really is just a ton of stuff going on.
Play the vanilla game (tutorial if you must) first, to get a feel for the game. Then, play with the expansions - Beyond The Sword makes the game more complicated, but it has some major improvements.
