9s are given like free ice cream these days.

Tim Schafer games have always reviewed very highly.

Yeah, critically he's always delivered the goods, really.  Its sales that have eluded the poor dude.

Yes and I think this will be his biggest selling game, not a Call of Duty type seller, but it I hope it reaches a million.

Should do around that combined for both systems. I'm thinking 360:600-700K PS3:400-470K

Former something....

You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Tim Schafer fan than me, and the game absolutely nails style, humor, and presentation, but....

The gameplay is assertively mediocre, and there are massive graphical glitches such as pop-in and slow-down throughout. Unless this game has changed massively from the demo, it's not higher than a low 8, and even then only cause of the awesome presentation.

I wouldn't care if reviewers got a burr in their ass over the graphics and glitches and gameplay and it ended up averaging a 6.5, I'd still buy it because it's Tim Schafer. ....Writing for Jack Black.

It is good to identify with a fellow fan, but on that note you will understand if I do not give a crap about problems. Psychonauts is still one of my favorite games, and it is almost brutally flawed.

I like how some people grade games based on the tutorial level in the demo.

If you'd take the time to actually read before you post, you'd notice that the issues I had with the demo were not in any way related to what "level" in the game it was. They were technical and gameplay shortcomings that would need major changes.

This is exactly how I feel about some of my favorite games and you phrased it a lot better than I would have.

Why would you assume the comment was directed at you? Also the demo doesn't reveal any of the RTS elements so there are major changes between it and the majority of the game.

I'm buying it too... just saying it's not a 9 game, objectively, in any way. Look: There's a difference between your favorite game, and the best game ever made. There are standards of quality development that this game is clearly lacking. Again, I love Tim Schafer, and I will buy this game, but as a piece of software, it has major quality issues that are easily visible.

That's your opinion as in it's subjective not objective. In my opinion the quality is great and the problems are minor.

Technical issues are not subjective. You may like the gameplay better than me, but the fact that it's not a well-programmed game is not a debatable fact.

I don't consider minor technical issues a major problem but if you do that is your perspective on it, mine is different.
