Is WiFi a huge advantage for the PS3 or its just a good extra thing to have?

Well I'm WiFi on my PSP and PC...and I have no problems at all. WiFi has its advantages over wired....like no wires required, but the connection can easily be lost if other wireless devices are being used. But I see no problem with WiFi again...its a good feature. But looking at the 20GB its a huge buy for me...I'm on the phone line with a Gamestop rep now.

Wi-fi was a necessity for me. I had my ps2 hooked up to the internet via a 25 foot ethernet chord. My parents hated it, and would only let me whip it out when I was actually playing online, and provided no company was around.

You know that you might be waiting a while for FFXIII right? Who knows what skus will be available by...whenever... (mid to end 2009 my guess.)

Pop in a 200gb HDD and bam your good to go. :P


You no what I totally forgot about that....I was just about to give up on that seriously...But hold on a second $380 for a PS3 now that is a still over the 40GB. Only thing is:

40GB has WiFi and Plays Blu-ray

20GB has BC and plays blu-ray

The only thing is the 20GB lacks WiFi...this unit here is a steal....I'm calling the Gamestop headquarters now.

I understand you on that point. I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to the same exact cord. But I hided the cord under the carpet so know one can trip over it. But again if my internet did get cut off. I would really liked to use someone elses internet and the only way to do that is WiFi......DAG its a hard decision!!!

I will, but hold makingmusic...I got to make sure its in stock, then Gamestop rep has me on hold...if they don't I might just bid on one at Ebay.

 Are there any other wi-fi connections around you that you could use?  I have three others around me, but they're all WPA protected, so I can't access them.   So, wi-fi would only be useful in that respect if you have other viable  access points around you.

Hmm, tempting. Maybe they should of just kept making 20GB's and got thier price down. It certainly be more competeive with the Premium 360. It doesn't have Wi-fi and it also has a 20GB harddrive.
