If any of you have played the Orange Box on 360, then you would noticed that achievements are tracked by bars and numbers, the more you progress towards an achievement the bar fills up and numbers keep increasing.
I think all 360 games should indicate your progress towards achievements where it's possible, some achievements where you do one specific thing can't be tracked so those don't apply. Either there should be a general system across all games that tracks progress in achievements or developers should try and include this feature in their games as much as possible.
For example, there's an achievement in Crackdown for running over 175 gang members in a car, I have no idea how many I've run over and can't go after the achievement because I don't know how long it'll take.
In Dead Space there are achievemnts for killing enemies with certain weapons a specific amount of times, these are not tracked either but the number is 30 so it's easy to count i suppose if you're actually up for counting enemies killed with specific weapons over many playthroughs.
In some games, achievements that involve doing a specific thing several times are easy to figure out (stats are kept) and in other games they're not, so a unified system would be ideal to keep track of progress towards achievements even when you're not in the game, but on your dashboard.
