Forums - Sales Discussion - Which console's big holiday titles will sell the most?

koffieboon, those were pretty good predictions, like you said Modern Warfare 2 was bigger than anybody could have expected. Also, I'm not sure about WiiFit Plus reaching 7 million in this period, it still could but I'm thinking it will be closer to 6.

I agree with Wii Fit probably end up a bit lower than 7 million, but if it ends up around 6-6,5 million it is still pretty close. At least a lot closer than my Modern Warfare numbers

Could you change the PS3 colour to red and the overal to Clear ... makes sense!

Quickly adding this weeks numbers together shows Wii and PS3 will almost be even now and Xbox 360 will lose more than 1 million of its lead. In my opinion this makes Wii the favorite again, although it will still be close.

Updated the chart in the original post with this week's numbers. As Koffie said, the Wii caught up with the PS3, and is actually a few thousand ahead. The Wii is dominating the weekly updates now thanks mainly to NSMBWii and WiiFit Plus. It does look like at this rate the Wii will wind up winning after all which will be quite a comeback.

Looking back at your OP I do wonder why 62% of the people voted for PS3 outselling Xbox 360. It seems pretty obvious Modern Warfare 2 would be the deciding factor in this race and this title was certain to sell a lot more on Xbox 360 than PS3.

Big week for Wii, about 3.5 millions for its top 5. I think now the 4th spot has been reached by Cabela's big hunter game right? It has sold more than Disney sing it LTD...next week is the last to be counted or there will be also the week after (which has 5 days in the 2009)?

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

I would expect 2 more weeks to be counted, although for the outcome it won't make a difference. Wii will only be slightly behind Xbox 360 after the update and next week will be more than enough to get in front. Wii is really seeing some incredible software numbers in December.

It needs to be updated to see the semifinal results (if also the next week will be counted)!
Great thread by the way.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I've updated the charts with last weeks numbers, even though a couple of people had already mentioned them. I'll update again tomorrow with the most recent numbers.

Buzzi, the reason I haven't added Cabella to the chart is because it actually released in September instead of October. Although its first weeks sales were included in the first week of Oct. If I do this contest again next  year, I will change it including games that fall in that period.
