Why do i keep reading about Gran Turismo 5 being delayed when all of those information about it releasing this holiday season was just rumors? Sure, Polyphony Digital said they could release "anytime", but they haven't really announced any dates, until they said it was for march 2010 right? So, that's not really delayed at all, am i right?

Release date was never official but there was something to it. Software sales sites had quoted December as a release date. Hoping to get a better quality product in the end.

There's no way the game will not be released after all the dev work. At most, it could be released and fail to live up to expectations (and Forza). Though I'm sure that PD are now having a good look at Forza to make sure that GT surpasses it.

Looking at Sony's first party lineup for this xmas there is a huge GT5 sized hole, personally I believe they wanted it this year but PD said no. The techincal question is can it be actually classified as delayed if nobody ever quoted this year for release, in those terms then no it wasn't delayed (technically).
