The so-rumored Wii version of Okami is official! IGN confirms that Capcom will be bringing the game with enhanced graphics and motion control to "its natural home" in Q1 2008!

Interview with Ready at Dawn reveals that it's ONLY A DIRECT PORT with enhanced controls, sadly. But it's awesome news nevertheless.

That's good I guess. Just wish that it wasn't a port like most Wii games.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Indeed I was expecting at least polished graphics (not that they're bad) and new content.

cool i have this for ps2 but stopped playing it when i heard of the wii okami because it will be much better with wii controls especially for the brush, plus im only like an hour inside the game

What's wrong with being a port of a great game?!

It's not like getting this port canceled an un-announced original IP.

if you havend finished the game it doesnt need new content trust me this is like zelda for ps2

I haven't played the original as I had sold my PS2 by the time it got released; it's just that I don't want developers to directly port everything they've got (be it good or bad), especially from Capcom. I'm sure to pick this up though, hope it's budget price.

At first I was happy but as soon as I've heard Ready at Dawn is going to port this game, the enthusiasm dropped. I appreciate what they've done with Daxter and sorry if it sounds offending, but what does an American company have to do with a Japanese game filled with Japanese traditional styles created by the Japanese in the first place?! Plus Ready at Dawn has "0" experience with the WII. I thought the team, which worked at RE4, might have taken the development in hands, but unfortunate, not.

I dunno, call me being sceptic, but got a bad feeling about this.

I agree with you, but they'll just port the game over; they'll translate the code from PS2 to the Wii. The only concern is about the controls, and even if they fail that, it'd still be an awesome game.

I think this is actually good.

The less time/effort they put into remaking parts of Okami for its Wii version, the more money they can make off of it (and potentially the cheaper they sell it for).

And if it sells really well and they make a big profit, they may make another one.
