And quite right too.  I always see Batman as pitching for the normal guy - no super powers, no unfair advantage yet still comes out on top, even if he takes a hell of a beating on the way.

And you're right, I guess in the comics he has been given the honour of taking down, in one form or another, pretty much every superhero.
