"Is it just me or does anyone else feel dirty whenever they give money to EA."
I know i feel dirty whenever i buy what they make, but they do make most of the games and they really do have some great games under their name.

I bought SSX Blur *tries to wash hands* "It's not coming off! It's not coming off!"

"Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo should abandon the console wars and help build a common gaming platform"
Ummm.......no. That would be a bad idea. Seriously they buy Bioware and now they say this, I'm really starting to hate EA.

SSx was a great series, i owned all 4 of them for the PS2, SSX1 was great it really showed what the Ps2 could bring to the table. SSX tricky was another great game, the insane stunts and levels were real a masterpiece. SSX 3 was the pinacle of the series for the PS2, the game was everything you could ever want from a snowboarding game, i unlocked everything in the game, the crazy outfits for your charcters were great. SSX4 or whatever the game was, was a piece of shit. The game was just brutal to play, i even tried to get into the game about 5 different times and i still could not finish it, it was just that bad.
Like the DVD forum it would only happen is something seriously bad happened to all 3 console makers (which at this point only Sony is in danger of that) and even then it would last at most a generation. Then Nintendo, MS, and Sony would argue as Nintendo wants to next system to be cheaper and focused on games, Sony wants it to be a medium to push sales for other Sony divisions, and MS wants it to be an expensive multimedia center. Like the DVD forum it would split and that would be that.
Have Sony design the harware, Microsoft develop the OS, and Nintendo develop the gamepads/wands/etc. The ultimate 1 console
j/k
Just plug a PC to the living room HD TV and that's it.
PC monitors are cheaper and have better resolutions. Back on topic. This idea of a single platform would kill gaming. There are so many problems with this idea. First how often will consumers have to update the internal components, video card and processor? What kind of controller will the consumer have access to? What kind of Television or Monitor will this technology use or will the consumer have a choice between the two, DVI, VGA, HDMI, and Component ports/cables?
I could keep going on but I've lost interest in this topic

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

They sure as hell don't own my PC world!
On topic: This is just EA saying "wouldn't it be nice if everything worked out so that we could have maximum profits?"
That would be the day....Sony, MS and Ninty working together to please their overlord, EA... *shudders*

There are only two companies that could live off their own ip's. Nintendo and EA. These are also, btw, the largest gaming software publishers as well.
However, one huge benefit of a one console solution is that it would quickly reduce costs on a system that could be perfect for home entertainment.
The quality and innovation of Nintendo, money and marketing of MS, and the technology of Sony. Then to top it all off, the games of every publisher, including the download-able content of all older machines.

That would be fantastic, then I could basically ignore it!
