I've heard worse.

Someone's child was sick so they closed their shop and went home to him. A government official came, I think it was a government official, and saw the shop was closed.

He was jailed for twelve years and tortured inhumanely. His arm was broken, his jaw was broken, the right half of his face was screwed up so badly he couldn't move it and his face seemed misshapen. Not to mention after the multiple breaking of his bones he had limited mobility.

I say this guy got off easy.

I've got a co-worker who just returned from the middle-east, early this year. The things he told me, and the pics he brought back were horrifying. People getting their hands cut off, tongues cut out, legs broken --even children! It's a whole other world, over there. This story is shocking, but still in line with what I was told. I thought I'd seen some things in my last job. My experiences don't even compare.

-I must also state that I'm relatively uneducated in the matter. Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc. I'm not sure exactly where he was. All I know is that there was sand. Lots of sand.

@Ultima, sorry if I offended. That's never my intention, when I post.

^You didn't offend me... I just think suicide bombings are a huge problem in the area, and I don't think it's okay to joke about that. Kind of like it's not okay to joke about what Nazis did to Jews.

^^Yeah, I was joking, in a way.....but at the same time, I was serious. The same guy was telling my class about the time his unit cleared a house and came across a lady who had a bomb strapped TO HER BABY. Everyone in the class felt like these suicide bombers and such were batshit crazy. Our instructor proceeded to explain that these guys were not crazy, but in fact, believed in a cause so strongly that they'd gladly and willingly die for it. I don't know. I just can't see it, myself.

^What cause?? You can't call this martyrdom. And the woman must've been insane. It's not bad enough that she tries to kill herself, it's not even bad enough that she wants to kill a few others in the process; no, she has to do that to her own baby.
And I agree, I can't see it either. They seem batshit crazy to me. I just feel sorry for the normal people that have to live in constant fear of such events.

Luckily, the baby and lady didn't explode or my co-worker would have been dead to. Madness. Little kids getting their hands run over with cars for stealing. Yeah. That happens, too. He said there was a certain time of day where everyone prays. Shopkeepers leave their stores unattended at that time and don't even lock the doors. NOBODY is crazy enough to rob them.

Thats the problem with these kinds of countries. Lots of people are brainwashed into thinking that expressing your own views are wrong unless they follow strict rules that can often infringe on their own human rights. Yet they follow them anyway.

Glad i live in England.

Wow, that's pretty harsh.

That is what I was thinking, that seems a little bit over dramatic

Woah! 5 years!!

And the sex he has during the next five years will be nothing to brag about. They're so uptight over there. No wonder the promise of virgins is enough to convince some people to blow themselves up.

Is that supposed to be funny???

I chuckled

I snickered
