yea I am tired of ppl dissing out cloud for his emoness. you all no that you have doubts about yourself and believe you can't do things, so why diss out a video game character for being realistic. cloud went through life feeling out of place and like he was letting ppl down so of course he had inhibitions. then he grew from that and was able to bond w/ new friends and save the world. Link doesn't even talk so w/e.

I know I am taking this too seriously, but I don't care. cloud freaking owns so deal w/ it.

Oh, and this is a pole about being the "ultimate hero", so its only logical that people would rag on this character for the things that dont line up with a heroic ideal. After all, this isnt a "anti-hero who is cliched beyond belief" poll.

in terms of whos the better hero, link wins..but thats just cause hes a cliched character...not that its bad.

in terms of whos the better warrior, cloud wins, hands down.....im suprised this is being debated.....all the heart pieces in the world wouldnt save link.....they'd just prolong his death.

Basically if Cloud killed Link, holy shit theres another Link. And another. And another.

How can you kill something that isn't one person but a whole series of heroes each completely seperate from the former? No matter how many Links Cloud managed to kill a couple of hundred years down the track there would be another.

3. He's the only one who can beat Ganon... Put Sephiroth or Cloud against Ganon... No one can do a single scatch on him besides Link. So meaning Link>Every other characters.

 Give the "Sword of time" (w/e u call it) to Cloud/Zack/Sephiroth or any 1st Class SOLDIER and you would have a Ganon burger :)

Did anyone see FF7:The Last Order? How Zack dodged all those bullets...? Put an army like that against Link and see what happens...

He'll just throw on his cape of invulnerabilty and nothing will happen to him. Or he could warp to the dark side of the world untill all the bullets pass. Or he could warp out of the area with his Ocarina/warp stone ect... Or he could but on the red armor and loose money instead of life.

If they use lasers he can hide behind his mirror shield and reflect the laser fire right back into the army.

EDIT: I don't know what the point is anyways, the only people supporting Cloud are the younger generation who started gaming during PS1 era. They can't be reasoned with (Half of them still think the PS3 is going to own this gen) and they didn't play 2d games, (otherwise they'd realize how much better Final Fantasy III(US) VI(Japan) was over VII). They're fixated on Cloud because they were young and impressionable and he was a badass while young. Had they been born ten years earlier they'd think the same about Link.

Just remeber Link still has way more marketability and recognition than Cloud ever will. You could ask 100 random people who Link and cloud were and you'd end up with a higher percentage of recognition for Link than Cloud end of story.

Link, for one simple reason:

He saves the princess every time. Cloud just watches her die and then gets emo.

 Put Cloud and Link in a deathmatch, Cloud would win. He is WAY more agile/stronger, and everything Link can do, Cloud can do better with Materia ^^

Btw, I started my gaming with snes, and my 1st Zelda game was Ocarina of Time (a masterpiece i might add) but i'm not saying Cloud is the better hero, i think both are good.
