Forums - Gaming - Can 2008 rise above 2007's shadow?

I think 2008 will be a fine year for gaming but not nearly as good as 2007 which isn't a bad thing. 2007 has been an unusually awesome year with some of the best games ever released. Even in the past few months, how many games have been getting 9 and even 10's? 2007 has seriously been one of the best gaming years ever and it isn't going to be beaten for a good while.

So yeah, 2008 will be in 2007's shadow, but that doesn't mean that 2008 will be a bad year. As others have pointed out, all three systems have great games coming out for them.

Oh, and good luck to you people expecting to play FFXIII in 2008. It's going to be an early 2009 title.

For me the best line-up is on the PS3, GT5 trumps all other games. Killzone2 and RFOM2 will be two of the best shooters on any system ever. GTA4 is going to be great, white knight story will be one of the best games of 08 aswell. Plus MGS4 will be the best one in the series by far.

@Griffin
How do you know MGS4 will be the best in the series so far? MGS3 wasn't as good as the original. Same with SMG; how do you ppl know before playing? It seems awesome but it may end up like Sunshine. Focus on games already released like Bioshock.

The fact that they have fixed the Camera and the controls for a more western audience makes it better.

Super Mario Sunshine is always looked at as some kind of pariah. Truth is, the game wasnt horrible, some would argue that it was last gen's best platformer. As for Super Mario Galaxy, it's shaping up to be the best yet. It has everything, including side scrolling, any platformer fan, like myself, would be giddy with excitement.

SMS was one of my favorite games last gen.

If I ever get SSBB I'll be playing it for well over a year so the state of 2008 is sorted for me (Of course I'll need to buy a Wii first).

Sales-wise, i say that Wii will have the best lineup. As things are shaping, sky seems to be the only limit for Wii fit. And that's only one title.

On the other consoles i see GTA IV as the best selling title

.

Okey let's start my buying list for 2008

an Xbox 360
Fable 2
SSBB
Mario Kart Wii
Soulcalibur4
Ninja Gaiden
GTAIV
Street Figther IV
Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk (If it comes out in Europe)
Final Fantasy IV
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
Battalin Wars 2
a very good computer (if Starcraft II will be realesed in 2008)
Starcraft II
Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe

and probely a Sea of more games

by the way Love your Avatar senseinobaka

 And some old Xbox360 games

My dog is way beyond my ranking list than you.

The only reason PS3 has a known good list for 2008 is because that is all Sony could advertise. Their present list is crrrrap. Well, not utter crap, but nothing to get all worked up about.

By March 2008 Wii will have the best lineup historically possible. Ok, maybe I'm being a little John Lucas with this, but, by then Wii will have an awesome game list for rest of year lined up.
