Who really gives a flying fuck? seriously guys, the differenece between 1080 that and 720 this is nothing, its basically BS. I dont know about you but ive never bought a game because of its screen resolution, have you?

 Right, that is why 30% of all PS3s RRoD. Also the massive power supply brick  is really a bad design choice as is including WiFi and an HD player.

Regarding their architectures... Cell vs PowerPC. Nvidia vs ATI... we will soon know which one is better. Next year most companies will have their 2nd generation engines running so we will see.

Rather than trying to blame some of the most talented developers in the industry, I said it was poorly designed.  When talented and well renowned developers report their frustation developing for the system because of poor design choices, you have to wonder if it's the developers fault, or the desgin of the consoles...

Try Ratchet, Uncharted, and GT5:prologue, when they out.

Except PGR has wether effects. I'm sure GT5 prologue lacks them because they dont want to put the effects in unless its 110% accurate, thus they are behind the times intentionally.

 

Oh, and Sigma does really crazy and really shitty scaling to get to 1080p. 

But whatever, all this 1080p is a bunch of bull since 720p is almost the exact same and indistinguishable for most sets. Its just PR hype and a ploy to get people to buy 1080p Bravias.

as long as its 720p and smooth its not a big deal. 60fps would be nice but 1080i vs 720p is minimal and a non factor.

 The devs might be talented in the fact that they can create interesting games (I'd actually credit the design team for that) but what it boils down to is that most game devs come out of school with little to no knowledge of multi-core machine coding.  They are taught dirt basics and industry tricks.  (My friend just graduated from one in Arizona, so I know this is still true today for a fact.)  Multi-threaded applications are not something you can just plug in and work with.  They require planning or a good engine to benefit from.  There are some developers that don't learn anything after leaving school and don't expand their knowledge more than they have to.  We are in a transition period in both PC and consoles.  Multi-Core machines are still very new (to the mass market) and very unsupported as far as tools and game engines.  This is why everyone complains about difficulty in programming.



It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.
