Forums - Microsoft - NFS Shift or Forza3? Need help deciding

Okay. I've been looking forward to Forza 3's release since last month when I decided to step into the racing game scene. I love the forza 2 custom paintjob stuff and i guess they'll improve in that, so it helps my anticipation.

But, Need for speed Shift looks awesome too. I played the demo and all. I love the graphics and the feel of the driving in the game.

I dont know which one i should get now. I believe forza is a bigger game from what i read and hear, but NFS is stunning too. Which one should i buy and why. Which one will/would you get and why. HELP!!!!

I notice that i mixed up the text style. I dont know how btw, lol

Normally Forza 3 should be able to blow Shift out of the water. People are divided on Shift, so Forza 3 would probably be the better choice.

I'd go for FM3.

More realistic, better online features and perfect framerate.

God i hate fanboys, almost as much as they hate facts

Forza 3 of course.
Need for speed is full of bugs and nowhere near the quality of FM3.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I've played the demo for NFS Shift as well and I really enjoyed it! I like the feel when I crash, since I am horrible at the game, and my vision in the game goes blurry. It seems very realistic and I think they really worked hard to make it a good game. However, on the flip side I've not played the demos for FMS 2 (not sure if there is one) or 3 and so I can't make a good comparison. I do own the first Forza and I really enjoy it. So I guess you can always rent NFS Shift and or Forza 3 (when that comes out) and compare to see which one you like better. Good luck with your decision.

I feel the same way about the crash thing. I like how the screen blurs as you crash and as you go real fast. Its like the feel of driving, excitement, and graphics makes me wanna buy NFS, and the graphics, online, paint designing and the size of the game (400+ cars and 100+ tracks) makes me want forza 3.

Seriously, go for Forza 3, I have Need For Speed: Shift and it isn't very good at all.

I am a big fan of racing games and although Shift has a few good points about it there are looooads of bad points that spoil the whole game, the handling is a joke, most the faster cars start bouncing (a known bug) making you loss control, the online is a mess, tuning settings don't save properly, the graphics are a let down although the cockpit view is cool, the overall graphics are very rough around the edges and the framerate varies too much and the loading is very annoying too!

Trust me on this one, Shift is NOT worth it, rent it first then decide if YOU like it or not (the demo does not represent the actual game very well at all), Forza 2/3, PGR 3/4, GRID and DiRT 1/2 wipe the floor with Shift in every way possible and i'm honestly not just saying it, I was looking forward to it for ages but it let me down just like most of EA's recent games.....

Choose Grid instead of Shift. Shift is just a rip off from Grid, which is a awesome game. And it's quite cheap now. Forza 3 is more realistic which will probably also be a lot of fun.

Grid is actually a great game. I tried it wen it came out. Dirt 1 and 2 are good looking too.
