i will buy it. i like the idea of digital distribution.

Totally agree. In some ways (unless I'm missing something) the price somewhat surprises me. I'm sure they could sell it cheaper, and still make a profit.
The only reason I can see is they believe that it wouldn't actually sell much more at a lower price right now, so they might as well lose a few sales but price it for early adopters anyway, then drop the price if they see proper uptake and growth in demand.
This implies to me they feel the potential market for a digital channel only handheld is fairly small, still, compared to the demand for handhelds with physical game purchase.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
i want it but the price is to high and my 2 favourite games aren't available for download (final fantasy crisis core/dissidia) when these two became available i might trade all of my UMD's hopefully the money from them will slash the price enough

Really? Releasing the PS3 was a bad decision? Seriously?
Please tell me you know that Sony is giving 2 different types of consumers the same PSP experience. If you don't like the Go don't buy it. Simple enough.
i don't think they wanted to get rid of umd and use digital distribution. Just a different physical media cause umd is balls

No, adding in the unecesary crap, and relesing at it's launch price was the part that was the bad decision. Anyway, you are completely correct on your second point, If you don't want it, don't buy it, it's not like Sony isn't giving you options.
When the first week data comes out we will see if GO did "flop" or as you say in sales or not...
Predictions
GT5 will sell 3.2million + first week on ps3 (made 06 March 2010)
FFXIII Versus will have higher Metacritic scores than FFXIII after the first month.... Bet going on with perpride - loser changes sig for a month
KH3 will be PS3 EXCLUSIVE - willing to bet removal from vgchartz for a month

The Go is a high profit device by itself. Add to that Playstation Network sales and Sony is going to start printing money again.
With the Go being such a high profit product it allows Sony to make back so much money.
Also everyone is talking about the Go. Which is bringing interest to the overall PSP platform.
Anyway according to VGChartz worldwide numbers the Go sold 80k. Overall the PSP platform sold over 210k.
I think Sony is also making money off of the 3000, I just don't know how much.
