The first post in this thread is based on fact. What is this based on (other than you not having read the first post)? ("Nah, nah, nah, I can't hear you."?)

the PSP-go is not for the same market that brought the origonal psp's

I want a go but not straight away. And i will get one. Probably around April or something because thats when my b-day is. Nah fuck that x-mas is comming. Me and my sister are getting one. She getting one for me nephew so it will all be cool.

Isn't this a little contradictory as a PSP owner to claim the Go is not for the same market as those that bought the original PSPs, and then say you'll be getting one? Obviously if the Go is attractive to you as a PSP owner then there must be a market for repeat buyers.

Now for the more obvious flaws:
- fewer features than previous PSPs, but at a crazy high price (250 EUR in Europe, that's 365 USD)
What fewer features???

fewer features like not being able to play the UMDs we bought, or use duo sticks to expand memory, and needing to buy a retarded dongle for any addons

- DRM'd games are sold for up to 40 USD online
Games are sold for up to 40 USD at retail... this makes no sense to me...

having to rebuy games and not have some sort of transfer or trade in policy by sony

- built-in battery that can't be replaced
Pandora battery. Blame users, not SONY for trying to protect their money.

I blame sony it was a design choice, but honestly i dont care about this one, i support built in batteries makes for cleaner design... but dont blame users

- smaller screen than previous PSPs
Also more crisp

eh wash in my mind both are true

- unergonomic, cramped controls (especially the L/R buttons)
Personal preference. I find the DSLite quite uncomfortable. Most people say it's fine.

I think unergonomic is a fiar complaint, but the psp has always tended to comfort in smaller hands, clears sony hates those of us with large hands

- old, outdated and error prone wireless protocol (802.11b)
The old models are better?

should have upgraded it to G or N, you dont get points by staying in the past

- downloads can't be resumed and take forever
And the old platforms are better?? You can redownload your stuff. Also use a pc or ps3 for the downloads.

this should be fixed thats a big freaking problem, we should not have to lean on pc/or home console for functionality

- PSP can't be used for anything else while downloading
The old models are better?

actually yea I can i had to open my first gen psp to check but i can do background downloading while watching a tv show, cool, didnt know i could do that

- proprietary plug instead of USB as in previous PSPs, need to buy special Sony cord

Buy??? IT FUCKIN COMES WITH IT!!!

goes back to the eliminating all peripherals you may have bought for the psp, need that freaking adapter to use them, but at least sony made the adapter, unlike what it did for umd

It is beyond me how this abomination managed to make it out into he wild (well, at least into those stores who don't boycott it for obvious reasons). It doesn't reflect well on a company to release a product like this. And if you buy a PSP Go at this point, it doesn't reflect well on your state of mind.

What am I supposed to say here??? Sorry we have different gaming preferences??? Sorry if the Go fits my needs and not yours??? Sorry if I like a product and you don't??

The majority of your complaints are a current psp owner upgrading or purchasing a Go, if you would stop and think about the psp-Go you would realize it is meant to appeal to new customers, appeal to the ipod/iphone users, appeal to the casual crowd, appeal to those who like the digital distruption.

Now after you take that into consideration then the psp-Go does its job.

Even if you don't own a PSP, the PSP 3000 would be a much better choice

It's the cheaper choice, but not necessarily the better choice. The PSP is smaller, more portable and it comes with 16 gigs of space. It can be used to listen to music and watch videos.

Every PSP model can be used to listen to music or watch movies, and seeing as how the PSP 3000's screen is bigger i'd say it is the better option to watch videos.

a PSP 3000 costs 169 euro you can buy a 16 GB memory card for 80 euro (assuming you need THAT much space) leaving it at 249 euro

the difference is now you can also buy phisical copies, rent games and borrow games

and if you don't need 16 GB you could just buy a 4 GB memor card which costs like 20 euro making the 3000 model a much better choice

Wait. The memory can't be upgraded?

Fail.

wait wut?

Didn't they just come out with a 200GB stick? No no no this doesn't make sense at all

UMD IS SUCH A STUPID FORMAT SONY SHOULD GET RID OF IT.

Sony release a handheld without UMD. The same people:

WTF R SONEH THINKIN DOIN THAT LOL THEY R RETARDS WHY DID THEY GET RID OF UMD

Let me show you why they call me the velour fog. Hit it.

I met her in a club down in old Soho,

Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola,

C-o-l-a, cola.

She, walked up to me and she asked me to dance,

I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said;

Leela, L-e-e-l-a, Leela, Lee, Lee, Lee, Leela

Leeeeeeeelaaaaaaaa

Them getting rid of UMD is welcome, IMO.
Just that, they should at the same time allow conversion of UMD games to PSPGo.

And the battery... AFAIK, people already found ways for homebrew last week. If the battery life were better, then making if non-removable would be good.

Being unable to loan your game to a friend could be double edge sword. I certainly load my DS games all the time. And that actually convince people to get their own copy as they like it. No, you cannot borrow my console, it's mine :)

I just realized that since the number of pixels hasn't been changed, PSP GO's aspect ratio isn't right. That means the image is slightly squeezed (O will look like 0).

Just look at this picture (taken from Ars Technica)

The images are actually crisper, doesn't stop you from making a new account to fuel your fanboy war. My games look far better on my go then they do on my 3000.

Really? Pray tell, how did you get your games from your PSP 3000 to your PSP Go?
