Forums - Gaming - What old games do you want to see revived the most?

Side scrolling brawlers:

Streets of Rage (Hey, Sega's working on a Golden Axe remake...)
Final Fight (burns Streetwise)
River City Ransom (Atlus published the GBA port, wish they did a better job though)
Double Dragon (C'mon, online coop = booyah)

As you can see, there's a genre that died out long ago, that I want back. Badly.

Wow. A lot of diversity in the responses. Developers will never be able to keep up with all our demands haha.

Baldur's Gate (on Wii)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I would be happy to see almost any of these games given a moderate treatment and brought back in 2D form on a handheld, a la Contra 4.

Companies don't need to break the bank to update all these franchises like Capcom is doing to Bionic Commando. There is still a market for great 2D games on handhelds, XBL, or PSN.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

I always wanted a decent update to the Megaman games. The 2d ones were awesome, as was the X series, but almost every single Megaman game that's come out since is shovelware of the highest order. Make a DMC-esque game starring Zero set in or around the X series. That would be sweet. I liked the characters and the attacks, but this NT warrior crap is pissing me off.

I'd also settle for better 2d versions, with like 16 different bosses and levels 4 or 5 times the size of the current ones. Imagine if they used the kind of 2d graphics at work in Guilty Gear.

I agree rocketpig. More 2D games updated to the PSP and DS would be great. In an interesting side note, Kirby Superstar (arguably the best in the series), is being remade for the DS with extra levels.

Apostrovich, have you tried the Mega Man ZX series on the DS?  It's my favorite Mega Man since the original.

IMO the best Kirby game yet was Kirby Canvas Curse, but I haven't played that yet; is it that good?

Yeah, it's pretty awesome.  There are a lot of great powers and the platforming and level design of that game was absolutely brilliant.  It's one of my favorite platformers.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa!
You serious? *Eyes light up, wallet suddenly empties*

Also, yeah, I decided not to mention Contra since they are making Contra 4 for the DS. According to the previews it's still stupid hard. Which means it's a must buy.
