Meh. Ninjutsu is overrated.
Seriously, people just have a flawed idea about ninjutsu, mainly because of the media. Ninjutsu is nothing compared to other martial arts, because it's only a couple of general techniques from other techniques (especially from Chinese origin), and they add the stealth and the esoterism and all that stuff.
Real original martial arts are wushu or karate, for instance. Wushu is the most beautiful and varied, because you can find both aesthetic and martial styles. You can even practice a branch of Tai Chi (Tai Chi Chuan) that has true martial applications. By the way, Tai Chi isn't that taoist (although some styles truly are) as it may seem, since this was added after its creation and is taught because westerners like to feel spiritual... Wushu's techniques are original and assorted, and truly form a martial art, but ninjutsu? Meh again.
