Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga Wii

So, I've been waiting for this blasted game for almost a year now, it's released gets a 4/10 so I figure the game is unplayable. Like Alien Syndrome as I gave that game a 4/10...

I bought this thing yesterday and decided that it's a horrible game. I ended up playing it till 5 am and didn't realize it until I saw that there was light outside. Now I have things to do today but I'm too sleepy. V_V

Anyway this is a page that I'll ask a very simple question for. Who has this game =).

For the sake of content I'll be working on putting stuff on the game in this first post.

~Hopes people care.

About Valhalla Knights Eldar Saga:

Enter into an epic tale that has endured for generations and generations. For centuries the land of Eldar has been synonymous with chaos and destruction; a place where monsters prey freely and demons wreak havoc, indiscriminate in their attacks. Legend tells of how, ages past, a being known as the Spirit King gained control of the creatures and waged an unrelenting war upon civilization. Order and life were brought to the brink of destruction, but an alliance of the four races was able to drive them back and seal the evil. Centuries have passed since that time, but once again the lands are slowly being overrun by the reemerging monsters. With the continent giving way to madness, a hero must come forth to reunite the races and confront the relentless enemy...

Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga expands upon the series by introducing a new online feature that allows two players to adventure through the land of Eldar co-operatively. Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga continues the series trademark of no random encounters while updating the real-time battle system to now include battles taking place on the world map instead of a separate battle screen for a seamless experience.

Screenies:

Ok some side Notes:

there is a weather system as well as a day and night system, fog effects after intense rains and so on.

So here's a Relation chart.

Graphics: Drakengard 2, Twilight Princes (lite)

Presentation: Very Zeldaisc

Plot: Actually has some meat but don't expect a book or anything Tolken.

Game Play: Acutally not just your standard click affair, it's very RPG centric where just about everything levels up.

Overall: If you liked PSO all around for single player and multi, this could be a great substitute. Free Online is pure greatness.

Bad Stuff:

Graphics are not Up to Par with Twilight Princess but they are close, the imagination to the level design is nice though and weather effects are a great plus.

Multiplayer - No offline Multiplayer and the fact you can only make 3 characters is lame but hey it's ok, the game has a lot of offline content so it makes a nice single player affair.

In all honesty I can't see how this game gets a 4/10, Maybe the Camera? I should read that review =P

So far I've only been trying to beat part 1, I haven't gotten into the online part.

If Online has as much content as the offline though, then it should be nice.

I can see where this game get's it's 100 hours of game play, my question is the replay value.

Wow this game looks a lot better than I expected. I definitely will get it soon.

Hey my hype thread!

So dib8rman, I think the Nintendo Power story mentioned AI deficiencies, are you seeing any of that?

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

looks cool to me with a lot of stuff!? definitely going to give it a shot!

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Griff,

I’d have to read it to find out exactly what they mean.

When I played the AI seemed to do the typical thing, which is to attack me or react in a way that it was a trap.

Perhaps for my partner, it got annoying when he couldn’t figure out how to go up the ledge and I had to solo the rest of the area.

The thing is that in most cases he seemed to end up right behind me anyway, not sure if he warped there or figured it out.

You can also customize the type of AI the mercenary goes by, aggressive, passive, defensive by a gradient bar.

But as for monsters, they don’t do weird things, like I was in the dwavern cave and bumped into a troll who upon aggroing me started lurching toward me in a way that I either had to run or fight. I went off the sound of his voice to kill him, he would breath in before he pulled for the attack with his club which was the size of my char XD.

By far the coolest feature was when I figured I could equip 2 1handed weapons in any combo. So I’m going for a Sword & dagger combo.

This game looks nowhere near as good as Twilight Princess. I read that it looked almost as good in the OP.

But I'm hype about this game! I think I'll just go buy it and DS:E at BestBuy right NAO!!!

Well, I'm being honest here, Twilight Princess graphically and you can feel the spirit of Twilight Princess or any OoT based Zelda in it.

Technically I may argue that it is "superior" to twilight princess in some aspects. If you are talking from an  artisitic perspective I agree.
