To mark the Tokyo Game Show, Japan’s biggest games conference, Square Enix, Japan’s biggest third-party developer, released the PSOne classic game Final Fantasy VIII on the Japanese PlayStation Store. FF VIII, the fastest selling FF game of all time, was released in 1999 to rather positive reviews, and, while many suggest that the game lies in the shadow of its predecessor, FF VII, it still remains a highly desirable game. Therefore, it was seen as a shame that the game was only released on the Japanese PS Store, with only the usual “no comment” given regarding an overseas release.

 Now, barely a week later, Mike Kebby, SCEE PlayStation Store Team member let slip:

FVIII should be coming soonish.

With the game now confirmed for Europe the likelihood of an American release is all the more probable, which should come as great news for Final Fantasy fans.

Pfft, never did like VII or VIII, to be honest they're both terrible in my eyes...

Tell us when Final Fantasy IX is being released, THEN I'll be a happy rabbit !

Oh yeah xD I got FFVII the first day it came out on the PSN, this one's going the same way, even though I have the originals for the PSX. It's just too much fun playing a FF game while i'm on the move, or while i'm at the lab waiting for an experiment to end xD.
We just need FFIX and i'll be a very happy happy FF fan :D

I still have my FFVIII CDs, it would be great playing it directly without swapping 4 discs...

They have already, it's on the PSN, at least on the US PSN. Also, you can get SOTN on the Castlevania Dracula Chronicles X PSP game as well.
