Seeing as how Bungie is now an independent studio and can develop new IPs for whatever publisher / platform it chooses, do you think that they will start to make Multiplat games for the Xbox360, PS3 and maybe even Wii?  It wouldn't be the first time this has happened, since Bungie was predominately a Mac developer before starting to co-develop games for Macs and Windows.

At the same time, the Halo IP is completely owned by Microsoft.  Bungie has stated that Halo:Reach will be the last Halo game it makes, so what do you think will happen after that?  Will Microsoft allow the IP to die off or do you think it'll take over internally or hire a third-party studio to make new games?

343 industries will take over development for future Halo games. Microsoft will never kill it off.

And I think it is possible that we'll see multiplat games in the future.

MS will most certainly not let the IP die off. They have a studio that will handle all Halo related things. They might farm out the development to someone else, or they might handle in house.

Bungie could very well start making multiplat games. There is no telling. Rumor has it that MS has a first option on anything they develop. Not sure if this is true or not.

i'm pretty sure somewhere in the contract MS has the right of first refusal for all future bungie games. So unless bungie makes a shitty game that MS wants nothing to do with...i'd expect bungie to continue making MS exclusive games.

I just find it odd that Naughty Dog were giving tips to Bungie on PS3 development. But then again, I guess it's just business.

It should be interesting to see who receives the Halo IP, especially since Microsoft still lacks 1st and 2nd party developers.

Bungie seemed very coy on who was publishing their next game...I find THAT very interesting.

Where do you get this?  Bungie hired an ex-Naughty Dog environment designer.  I assume because they want to make more realistic environments in their future games (so far still 360 exclusive).  No where did I see that this was to help them with PS3 development.
