The problem is the system costs $250, which is far too exorbitant. If the PSPGo sold for $200 I think it'd be much more successful.

I think they don't want to provide unnecessary competition to the ps3. Hey, it probably even helps ps3 sales.

Quit making silly excuses. It's selling badly because Sony fucked it up.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
is it me who is making silly excuses, or is it you who has resigned yourself to one possibly biased opinion?
EDIT: I think this should be examined on all sides. Even if your answer ends up being the right one in the end, it isn't right to skip the trial and find a judgement.

This is a silly excuse. That is my biased opinion. Not only a silly excuse, it's a ridiculous excuse.

from a descriptive standpoint we know this
The pspgo is 50$ less than the ps3.
70$ more than the psp.
it isn't very attractive to existing psp owners.
It pretty much comes with 3 free games.
It's helping bring people into stores.
Interest in the regular psp is increasing when people visit stores to ask about pspgo.

while I appreciate your humor, we don't know what they're specific strategy is.
When confronted with a perplexing situation, we have to wonder what is going on. Saying that a company just fucked something up is not a watertight answer. While many say that sony fucked up the ps3, they did solidify the BR technology. We have to wonder what kind of reason why the pspgo is so jacked up. What is their trojan horse? It can't be Digital Distribution because there aren't any specific competitors to it, since it's not hardware, and the software for downloading is on any computer and cell phone.
Sony is a smart company, they wouldn't make a simple mistake that even a 7 year old could tell was a bad idea. (like the price). There's gotta be something else.

When I told a customer that the iPod Shuffle (2nd Gen) plays music, he says so you pop the CD inside the a discman? I try to be nice to all customers but that earned a "are you retard?" stare.
A lot of the new games on the EU store don't say how much space you need to download, which is annoying.
