So there's this big flood in my area which took out the power. I go to my brother's apartment because he has power. He turns on his 360 and it gets the RROD thing, with the "contact Microsoft" message on the TV, but he doesn't look fazed. He turns it off, slams his fist into it hard three times, then turns it on again. Voila, Gears of War.

after a while it stopped working, but at least i had hit it 50 times or so :)

That's awesome. I couldn't see doing that to my first 360 (which I'm still on), but if I had the RROD problem like some of my friends have (one is on his 8th), I'd have beat the shit out of at least 6 of them before sending them in. Talk about relieving stress!

oddly enough beating the crap out of the box makes it work sometimes. My cousin took a hammer and whacked the back a few times and it solved his rrod :o

I believe old russian TVs even had something like that described in their instructions, in Troubleshooting section (or so the urban legends around here say)
