Wine is pretty stable if you dont glitch it like me...

Yeah, look up Wine's AppDB for the applications you intend to use. It works perfectly for some programs, not at all for others and the whole range in-between.

They've significantly improved usability though. You just "wine someinstaller.exe" and it works, and then once you've used the installer in Wine it creates a program shortcut in Applications -> Wine [under Ubuntu 9.04 at least].
