Has anyone here, other than me, watch this? It is utterly gruesome but interesting how it delves into the mind and shows how people truly can be in times of distress and how easy reality can be blurred by the mind.

I have and loved it i was hoping they would put it in the movie some how as its in the comic. im waiting for the bluray to drop in price to buy it though

I'm confused. Are you refering to what's in the Watchmen book? or was some seperate piece made?

I thought it was the worst part of the graphic novel and cutting it from the movie was an even better move than cutting the "alien."

I heard they would release an extended cut with more action footage AND the tales of the black freighter integrated into the movie proper. Does anyone know when that is happening?

I read the book a fair few times and watched the Anitmated feature, which I am told they will be putting in the final directors cut of the movie out later nearer Christmas I think.

Yes it's gruesome but I think that is the point. It is meant to be a mirror image as such of Ozymandias role in the book, as well as a few other things.

Instead of building an artificial alien to threaten mankind, Ozmandias detonates a series of bombs which are based on Dr. Manhattan's energy, implicating him as the attacker. I think this makes a lot of sense because Dr. Manhattan is a much more readily available threat than some cobbled together psionic alien and because it reinforces the idea that what Ozmandias wants is a God whose wrath and judgement bullies people into doing the right thing.
