Forums - Sony - Sony's Wand Controller RE5 Demo Disappointing? Counter Argument

First of all, I have to admit that I myself is a bit disappointed to see the use of DualShock 3 on one hand.  But after taking a step back and though a little, there are couple points that I like to make.

1. Graphical Power

Unfortunately, the video clips we have are not high definition quality so this has slight chance of being untrue, but assuming it is truly RE5 that was shown using motion controller then one of my biggest concern is relieved.  That is Sony announced while back Motion Controller uses PS3 SPE to process; hence, motion control supported game has less resource to use for actual game itself.  RE5 is NOT the best graphics in PS3, but decent and I would be happy to see that level of graphics with good motion control.  So this demo proved that even the use of motion control technology, developers can make high-end graphic games.

2. Cost Effectiveness

I see the people's point of Sony should come up with Nunchuck rather than DS3.  This may be an option, but having Nunchuck like peripheral in addition to the motion controller and PS Eye will further add cost to the motion control experience.   Rather I believe Sony should make it optional and use DS3 just as they did.  So in case people don't want to spend extra $ but like to still have Motion Control Experience, they have an option.

I can't remember where exactly I read, but there was an article that said we don't need two Wands.  There is an option to play games with only single Wand.   Then they even stated something like use a Wand as a Sword, and Sixaxis as Shield.  From this statement, despite many people's argument RE5 was just an sample and still was underdevelopment, I have a feeling that as far as RE5 Alternative goes, this might be the way the game plays i.e. DS3 + Motion Controller.

Now here comes my idealism,

As we all know PSEye + Wand adds depth perception.  So I think they should make it so that when we move (motion controller moves) closer to PSEye, the character moves front.  Similarily back and sides.

Note: Front does not mean One step we take = One step game character take, but rather PS Eye defines neutral position (distance) and if we are closer than the neutral distance, the game character continue to move front.

Alternatively, I believe they can use Wand Light (or ball thing).  Red means No move.  Blue means move front etc.

Lastly, I believe Sony or 3rd company can always come up with Nunchuck like peripheral.
