The PS3 will probably get to 5m before Wii gets to 10m as it has Final Fantasy XIII, however we still have to wait in order to see if NSMB Wii will give it a huge boost.

For the record, I am not updating my tracking because I don't have a lot of time and don't want to waste effort when there's a reasonably high likelihood that there will be an adjustment.  It's potentially a waste of my time, the time of everyone who comments on the numbers, and the time of everyone who reads those comments.  I find the suggestion that waiting a couple days for confirmation somehow constitutes bias to be obnoxious in the extreme. I expect newbie's reasoning is similar.

PS3, FF XIII will boost a lot of HW. FF is a monster!

People are vastly overestimating FFXIII's impact on hardware sales. Even so, PS3 will probably hit the mark first, but not this year or even halfway through next.

I think it will happen around March or April with the help of some RPGs and GT5.

Do you guys have Wii rising so high in mid November because of Final Fantasy? Seriously...140k? It's not even going to sell half of that.

Early next year, PS3's RPG offerings are looking a bit drab (a crusty SO4 port, shitty looking EOE, more Gust/NIS shovelware and... not much else?).  GT PSP's limping performance has me wondering about GT5's potential too, the brand seems rather tarnished compared to it's GT3 heydeys. 

I bet PS3's biggest game early next year is Yakuza 4, not GT5.  There's certainly nothing that suggests a push of around 1.5m from now until then though, it's mainly (western targeted) muliplatform affairs like SSF4, Front Mission Evolved or Lost Planet 2.  And FFXIII is pretty much it for the rest of holiday 2009.

Didn't they revise their predictions? They also have the Wii shooting up the week of the NSMB Wii release, which I do agree with.

And Jarrod, do you really think Yakuza will outsell GT5? GT5 is bound to sell more than prolouge. I'd say it hits the 1 million mark or very close to it. It will outsell any current PS3 game in Japan, so it will top MGS4's sales.
