This is an unofficial competition to design your own console. You've got to be prepared to specify exactly what it's about, but feel free to be creative. If your console is completely unreasonable for price, it will not be accepted.
It's not like a giveaway or anything, more just an opportunity for people to showcase their ideas. If this turns into a warzone or I get angry PMs saying they want cash prizes or something, I'll just end it.

Judged by: Me. Wii/DS owner but a good knowledge of computer hardware. I will not be biased while judging though, so whatever philosophy you choose is fine.
Prize: A banner for your signature. And the pride of showing off your idea to the world.

In your entry, you can include any or all of the following, as well as anything else you want to add. Please don't just enter a name and a shape; flesh out your ideas and be creative and innovative.
What you could enter:
Name - Give a justification of why you've chosen it. Do not use names likely to be legally challenged if real, eg. Playstation 4.
Handheld or console?
Appearance - Provide a picture or explanation of what it would look like. I'm not looking for great artwork, but functionality: how does the drive (if you have one) open, what lights does it have, etc. Include dimensions and a reasonable estimate of the weight.
Specs - Explain roughly how your CPU and GPU (if you have them) work. Hypothetical manufacturers and rough architectural designs would be good. Explain what resolutions/ports the console would work with, and whether it would read CDs, DVDs, SD cards, etc.; Does your console have a hard-drive or other form of memory? Bonus points if you can be more detailed.
OS - Explain what the interface of your console would be like. Channels? Icons? Blades? Include pictures or written explanations of the software that comes with the console. Web browser? Media player?
Online - What, if any, online connectivity would your console have? Online shop? Multiplayer? Demos? User content? Social networking? Would such services cost?
SKUs and pricing - Tell us what SKU(s) you would release with features and reasonable prices.
Games - The big one. Will your strategy be to attract existing gamers, be family-friendly or something completely different? Will you focus on first-party games or do exclusivity deals with third-parties? Briefly describe a few major launch games for your platform. You can make up new games or sequels of existing third party ones, but do not make up games that are owned by companies that will never release on your platform e.g. Mario. Will you buy up a major studio, outsource development or create a new genre of game entirely? Will normal people be able to develop games for your console?
