Ok let me start by saying NIN is one of my favorite bands and vastly influenced my entire taste in music from when I was quite young (my older brother listened to NIN a lot)

However there is no amount of star power or other humans influence who will suddenly make me change my opinion just because it is different from his or hers. I like the idea of respecting older games, however I like serious and mature plot lines and not saving a princess for the billionth time.

This isnt the first time Reznor said something I disagree with, back in the late 90's when he was working on Doom 3 he said jrpgs (ff series in particular) arent games and are pointless.
meh...this has no effect on me, either way

Yes I am a fan of the Playstation 3, but I am an even bigger fan of intelligent and rational dialog. (If you are up for an intelligent exchange of ideas, you are more than welcome to add me as a friend)

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future......NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

(haven't been playing much since I am broke)

This insult is unacceptable....

Quick, set fire to the villages!

I break my week-long silence just this once -

Trent Reznor is the head of Nine Inch Nails, and the producer of 99% of Marilyn Manson's music. His band did the music for several video games, some award winning stuff for Quake 2. You can basically thank Trent and his band for the creation of the "Nail Gun", which was designed as a comedic homage to the band working with id.

Trent has pretty much set the way for audio design and spatial effects, influencing not just musicians, but sound designers through the gaming industry as well.

It is no surprise that a famous musician would be discontent with anything Sony does. Sony has pretty much ruined the music industry with their tactics since the 1970s.

Well Said :)

Thanks for responses guys. The people that know reznor and his music understand that his opinion is indeed relevant to gaming, simply because he has done a lot for it.

I know the title isn't a great summarization of the interview, but it's the only way on gaming sites these days to get some attention. And this man deserves the attention =)

In the majority of games, you're either saving the world or saving the girl even if the story has tons of characters and plot twists.

Signature goes here!

And that's why I prefer to play games about building an entire universe because your dad accidentally got drunk and destroyed the whole thing, and is making you clean up his mess.

It is nothing more than his opinion. He and NIN have made good music I agree but it is just his opinion. Some people need to look up the definition of opinion. I disagree with most of what he said, but that is just my OPINION see how that works there.

Adding up the total sales for the HD consoles (X360 and PS3) shows me that I am not the only one that thinks the systems are great. I personally used to love Nintendo but cannot stand the Wii and will never own one. He talks like PS3 and X360 only milk franchises then praises Nintendo...uh wow how many Super Mario games, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, etc are there out there??? ALL the console companies milk franchises, actually it isn't something that is isolated to the console industry, it happens in businesses all over the world.

I don't feel that Sony tried to get into my home by slipping in as a Blu ray regardless of how they marketed it. I wanted a blu ray and I wanted a HD kick butt game playing PS3, so I bought one.

As someone above stated, Trent just doesn't like Sony because of how they and the music industry have history. He isn't the final word on gaming as some people appear to think.

He does have musical talent though even if I no longer care to listen to his music some of his songs will be in my head forever.

i dunno him and after reading the first paragraph i do not care for his opinion. That is all.
