Without a doubt different from the tribute video. But nevertheless looks great.

With the release date next year hopefully October for EU Thats plenty of time for me to finish Forza 3 :)

You do know that it's an amateur video recording of the tv right? So it's obviously is going to be different from the tribute video.

Yeah I know it's off screen. But the scenery looks less detailed, and the reflections seem to jerk in the replay video. In the tribute they are perfectly smooth. Lots of tell tale signs. But it still looks great. Would like to see an open track where the draw distance is far greater. Because the tree line and road side fences mean theres little to see apart from stuff right next to you as you drive. Hopefully the detail is extended to 3-4 miles draw distance.

rubbish. Besides the proessing effects (The darkness that kind of engulfs the image to put more focus on the car) The environments in the gameplay video actually look better The cities, the lighting, the reflections in the game are exactly the same as they are in the ferrari tribute video. If you look near the end, even the famous backlight section of the ferrari tribute video is exactly the same.

I know you wish harder and harder for forza 3 to be better, and that's fine. Forza 3 is going to be great, I can't wait to play it. Infact, I'm happy they pushed GT5 back. Not only does this take competition away from FF13 in Japan, it lets Uncharted 2 breath.

I guess what I'm saying is, you can love forza 3 all you want. But turn 10 posts just as many bullshots as everyone else does, and it's absolutely rediculous to assume they don't. None of their in game footage looks anywhere near as good as the screenshots they post.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure forza will be the better game because it's less of a sim and more of an arcade racer, and thats what I enjoy the most.

As a huge racing fan, and I'm sure you're just as big of one, please let your bias slip aside for just a few minutes. sit back, and marvel at how absolutely stunning this game is. There is no racing game on any platform that comes anywhere close. Forza 3 is in an entire different class all together when it comes to the graphics technology, it cannot hold ground at all. While the car models in forza are good, they're still lightyears behind what PD have done here. The environments are FAR more behind. Forza's backgrounds are very cartoony, and look really odd compared to the realistic cars.

What PD have done is created tracks, backgrounds, skies, buildings and life that is closer to real looking than any other game ever created. Its absolutely stunning and I cannot wait.

But I'll have way more fun with Forza 3, and I'll prefer it. You can too! But please, open your eyes man. This game makes digital love to racing and cars. Sweet sweet love.

Look I didnt even mention Forza 3.

I must be watching a different tribute video to you then. Because they look quite different. Anyways.

Most people on this site even Sony fans will say Forza 3 has the best environments. But thats for another thread. There really was no reason to bring Forza 3 into this thread. :/

Forza 3's environments are really unpolished. I have captured a lot of screenshots from the demo, would you like to see?

Nevermind, here are some from Gamersyde.

From the demo. The environments were all bullshots in every picture they released. In game they look like something from a last gen action game. I think god of war 2 had better buildings.

Love to see. I was playing the game for 2 hours. To be honest it's amazing. But do yourself a favour and create a new thread in M$ section. This thread is about GT5.

selnor not being the one to bring Forza 3 into a GT thread, but actually tell people not to bring it in? O.o

*pats face... desk... pats face again... pinches*

*faints*

XD

But yeah, this is a GT thread and selnor's right, but if this was a GT vs Forza thread I think that Mr. Powers has some really cool points and seems really informative (more than me since I'm not into racing... maybe I'll play some Burnout today, haven't touched it since I got it for 19.99). If you're new welcome to the forum =) and listen to selnor.

Replied personally as to not derail the thread.

Selnor, how is the scenery less detailed? The replay shows a city track and the tribute shows nothing but plain road courses (presumably to keep the focus on the car).

Example the building at the start of tribute is much more realistic. but look at the grass colour in road texture in the tribute video much more real. Compare that to the greens of the trees and road in replay video. There is a difference. Anyhow, I still think it looks great. Just wanna see an open track instead of an enclosed one. Would be real nice to see gameplay of Nurburg for instance.

Oh the irony...
