Microsoft Announce Natal Partners: Everyone Plus Kojima

Microsoft just sent out a self-congratulatory press release about Project Natal, highlighting the publishers and developers currently toiling away on games for the upcoming motion control system.

Those listed are:

Activision Blizzard
Bethesda
Capcom
Disney Interactive
Electronic Arts
Konami
MTV Games
Namco Bandai
Sega
Square Enix
THQ
Ubisoft

While some of the larger companies could be working on anything, others given an insight into some possible first-wave Natal titles. MTV Games? Rock Band. THQ? UFC.

In addition to those companies, Microsoft will also be holding a panel at TGS later today where Capcom's Keiji Inafune, Segas Toshihiro "Brown Man" Nagoshi and Hideo Kojima will all be talking Project Natal, where they will "discuss the possibilities for the groundbreaking new experiences that can only be achieved with Project Natal".

Brown Man, Kojima and motion control? Oh, we'll be there. Will let you know what goes down.

The most surprising on there to me are Bethesda and Square Enix. Definitely a strong lineup of devs on the whole there though.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

You know MS is compensating all the aforementioned producers to come up and "discuss the possibilities of Natal" right? Sounds to me it's just a hype-building advertisment, with Kojima and co. as the stars of the commercial, no different than when Spielberg got up on stage at E3. MS's marketing department is fully aware that the Japanese market will be more impressed by a Natal presentation by Kojima than someone such as Spielberg. It's a textbook marketing ploy.

I wouldn't read anything more into this than what it really is... MS dangling the carrot.

TGS 2009: Every major publisher 'actively working on games for Project Natal'

Kicking off Tokyo Game Show 2009 with a kick digitally translated into a game, Microsoft has announced massive industry support for upcoming motion device Project Natal. Trumpeting a laundry list of gaming industry all-stars from Activision to Ubisoft, it appears that every major publisher is in some way "actively working on games for Project Natal."

Microsoft says publishers received development kits in early June and have been hard at work ever since. EA's Peter Moore thinks Natal "could fundamentally change the way people play sports games" while Capcom's Keiji Inafune says it "will expand the possibilities of gaming." In fact, Microsoft is so intent on proving that developers love it, the company is hosting a panel at TGS featuring the aforementioned Inafune, Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi and Konami's Hideo Kojima.

Wait a minute, Kojima is working with Project Natal? But we can't do any of that crazy Raiden ninja stuff!

Really...Show me the proof...

I don't have to. Show me the proof that there is a legitimate, quality software product that is under development from anyone for Natal. Don't just blow smoke. Until I see MGSNatal or whatever, or Kojima himself confirms development of such a title, his being on stage is nothing more than hype, bought and paid for by MS. And this goes for every other dev too.

Yes you do..Or else I wont believe you...Your just some Gamer on the internet providing your personal speculation on the subject..Until you can provide proof that MS is paying these high profile Game Makers to talk NATAL...Your just spreading FUD...

The Proof is in the is in the OP...MS released a list of companies working on NATAL software..How did you miss that?...Sega annouced It will show Natal Games early next year...

Your just saying what you think is going on...But until you can prove that both Kotaku and Joystiq made this list up..your just MS Bashing..and it's making you look like a Fanboy....

I hope the TGS panel does not brake your heart...Granted it's not far fecthed that Kojima might do Spielberg during his minutes...But you don't know that yet...

And again..Saying that MS is paying Kojima to do this without proof..is pure FUD!

HELL YES, thats stong ass line up of gaming devs.

You know, you're right. How could I possible think that those producers are getting paid to promote MS products. Surely it is an act of goodwill! I bet Kojima plays 360 all the time, and is so enamoured with the product, he felt it was his duty as a gamer and as a developer to give his time to let the world know what a great product MS is developing.

Don't get me wrong here, I genuinely hope Natal is all it is cracked up to be. I just laugh at how people take marketing and turn it into gospel.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I have been reading all of the fanboy wars for some time on this and every other gaming site. I am convinced that Microsoft employed the largest viral marketing campaign in the history of the world to promote the 360. I bet there are numerous MS employees posting on this very site, trying to sway public opinion towards their product.

Not saying 360, or Natal, or MS or any of it sucks or anything. I think it is a good gaming machine. In fact, I think all of them are. I just find Microsofts marketing strategy facinating. I don't believe the fierce brand loyalty of this generation is a coincidence. Not that people didn't always favor the console they owned throughout all of the generations of gaming. But the HD generation and all the system bashing and flame wars that have come with it are something special.

Anyway, sounds crazy I know. But given modern marketing and the financial power of MS, you cannot deny the possibilities. What better way to get people to buy your system than to convince them to hate the other?

Being sarcastic is not providing proof...

And Speculation is something I don't care for...plain and simple..You can't prove MS is greasing these guys to kindle japanese gamers into a fire sale...Plain and simple...I did however find it probable that Kojima might be doing a Spielberg...but we don't know that yet....

As for the console...It's like SNES vs Genesis...worth the time and Money...
