If you are looking for more video download options on your PlayStation 3, you will likely have an additional service via mass online rental company Netflix. In a recent interview with Reuters, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said he’d like the video service available on all systems, not just the Xbox 360.
Microsoft has an exclusive deal with Netflix right now, but Hastings believes the video rental service will be available on all systems.

“Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the Internet TVs,” he said. “So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterized it more than that.”
Hastings joined the Microsoft board of directors in March 2007. As for when the video service will arrive on the PS3, it seems unlikely it’ll be any time soon as Hastings did not give a specific timetable.

The wording here is whats important.
Its obvious by "currently" as we all know its got a timeframe. So we now can be assured its coming. We obviously dont know when, but the fact its being discussed already is encouraging to us non 360 owners and lovers of movies.

He's a member of the Microsoft Board of Directors - and he runs Netflix. It will be a cold day in hell before Netflix shows the PS3 any love.

Then why would he say he eventually wants it o come to all consoles?
Obviously MSFT paid money for the exclusive service, but If he had that much loyalty and was that intne ton growing the 360 rather than the company he runs why even persue those avenues in parallel as he stated?
Its going to happen. We just dont know when. Combined with Greenbergs somehwat candid, anything can happen, id say its a sure thing and they all know it.
I dont remember ToV could happen, or star ocean could happen or eternal sonata could happen, but as we know form ToV these things were all in the works, now we dont even have to wonder as the head of netflix who is also on th eboard of MSFT is already telling us it will eventually happen.
