i do agree w. what u said, LoLX

Well you guys forgot about Rockband, another great IP.
They should get Activision on board and it is all said and done in the west.
All of them exclusive on one console... Wow... this would be bad.
-----------------------
another meltdown would be MS trying to buy out EA. EA lost a lot of money in the past years and MS always has money. The internet would stop working the second this would be official.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
Would MS be legally allowed to buy EA?
I thought EA had difficulty buying Rockstar, not just because R* were stubborn, but also because there were concerns it would be anti-competitive or something.

EA has tons of exclusives and a lot of software "houses". But after a very short while these exclusives would dry up. Do you seriously think that the NFL or Fifa would actually let one gaming console put a monopoly on their franchises? There is absolutely no way they would let this happen. Because there is so much more money to be made on the other consoles.
So with that being said I still think EA could launch its own console if it wanted too. But it would cost so much money to get going they would probably have to partner up (more than likely with a big company like Apple). If the console failed then they would be toast with billions lost.

If EA entered the console war I could see the Xbox being destroyed.
They would definately be the biggest competition for the 360 in North America.
Nintendo and Sony wouldn't be hurt as bad considering that they actually have a respectable amount of first party studios, and could probably counter EA's exclusives with their own versions (not that Nintendo has too considering who buys their console).
I guess one of the questions would be whether or not they would get 3rd party support. At least equal to that given to the other consoles.
all depends on the 3rd party support. B/c if they dopnt have that, they have no chance in hell of succedeeding. Sports games alone are not gonna cut it. Also personally they have to have a great library of RPG's to get me to but one.
I doubt they'll be able to generate enough revenues on their sole platform compared to now.
But SHOULD they release a new console (which is VERY unlikely), then one thing's for certain: Unless Microsoft start buying as many studios as they can in North America, the Xbox brand is doomed. Sony and Nintendo have enough studios to survive, but Microsoft relies too much on 3rd party support.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

It would take a long time for any of this to come to fruition. So I am certain M$ would have plenty of time to get its gaming studios in line. Plus all of the games in development now would just be finishing development near the end of this gen. So it wouldn't bother the 360, just the next box.
