Forums - Sony - Problems with my PS3 resolution

I recently bought myself a new PC, and its great. And one of the pros of this was that I got a 25 inch 1080p monitor with it. My PC is connecting just fine and my PS3 does as well, until I try to go into a game. For instance, on the main ps3 screen its all in 1080p and looks nice, but when I went into the Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 demo (awesome by the way) the game was very blurry. I also tested blazblue, and while not as extreme as NG was still somewhat blurry. If anyone has any experience with connecting consoles to monitors Id appreciate some tips on how to fix this.

I have never played either of those games, but look on the back of the box, my guess is that they only support 720p.

That was never in issue on my 1080 tv

Check the display settings in the XMB, maybe you don't have 720 checked, and they are playing in 480.

No, its checked

What resolutions can your monitor display? Could be dropping from 1080 to 480 if 720 isn't supported, but that is unlikely..

Hmm, I don't know what the problem could be then.

No it supports all the various levels of HD

Are you using HDMI? Try unchecking 1080p and 1080i and running the game at 720p and see how it looks. Also, you should set RGB to Full.

I tried that and the game did look better, but switching into different resolutions for different games isn't exactly ideal.

By the way do you think I would have any luck with a HDMI to DVI converter?
