Is the Orange Box still shitty on the PS3 (I have it on 360 and PC so didn't pay a lot of attention if it got fixed or not)? If not, start with that.

Afterwards get Bioshock, it's great. Call of Duty 4 also has a pretty good single player campaign. If you're still hankering for some FPS action, get Resistance.

I would skip Resistance 2 and Killzone 2, both just aren't that great of games (especially for single player). I think Killzone 2 alone has one of the worst ending fights I've ever played and one of the worst boss fights I've ever played (that one where you walk on the roof and supposed to shoot the electric coils to destroy the aircraft, piss poor job on that one).  Aside from that, the atmosphere in Killzone 2 is really good (and I mean really good) but the rest ranges from blah bland to bad.

I played and own Orange Box for PS3 and whatever 'problems' its said to have i havent had an issue with it that i've noticed. I guess its been fixed?

cod4 and kz2. i haven't played bioshock, but i hear it's great.


kz2 had a very intense and engaging campaign. as soon as it was over i started it up again. cod4 is more better story, while kz2 is more immersive and gives a better feel of the chaos of a firefight. killing has never been so fun as it is in kz2.

Maybe Fallout 3?
Like what others said bioshock is good, but u should pick up teh orange box, no matter what problems it has.
Mirror's edge is fun, but short.

Half-Life 2 is easily in the top five FPS games of all time with the included Episode 1, 2, and Portal being icing on the cake.

And he has a few RPG's so I don't see why Fallout 3 is so laughable considering he's asking for a single player FPS with a story.

Definitely Killzone 2, Resistance: FOM, Resistance 2 and The Orange Box. Bioshock is meh, so are the COD games.

Half Life 2 is best single player campaign ever made in my opinion...followd closely by Hal...oh, right, Ps3/multiplat only :)

I know Half-life 2 is awsome!!! I have finished that game more than 5 times but the orange box never got my attetion when it launched.

Also correct me if im wrong but the OP is asking for a gr8 FPS game and Fallout 3 isn't an FPS it's a WRPG unless you consider Fallout 3 as a FPS.
