He's just a senior environmental artist...he alone isn't going to make that big of a difference....

And I'm not saying anything negative about him or Bungie, Bungie makes great environments and I'm sure that guy is great, it's just one guy who isn't even a lead isn't going to drastically change things. People change studios all the time for many reasons.

I thought the heading senior implied that he would be mostly in charge of the environments in the game?

There's a difference between lead environmental artist and a senior environmental artist.

Senior is only really a measure of experience/skill.  It means he has more responsibility than an associate env. artist or an env. artist, but does not mean he is a lead.

I guess that misunderstanding is why people think that could actually be news...

-edit-

Oh, I see, he was a lead at Naughty Dog but is going to a senior position at Bungie.  That just probably means he loves him some Halo or didn't like being a manager and would rather actually do some art.

wonder what resolution this game will be

Repent or be destroyed

I love the work Naughty Dog does, and am so excited to see one of their most talented designers joining Bungie.

Now i can have a little of the best of both worlds, lol

interesting....Uncharted was praised for it's Enviros....And now the Lead is working on Xbox 360 exclusive with Bungie...a team that makes some of the most impressive enviros....

If Microsoft makes a huge campaign ad for Reach like they did with Halo 3. Reach can be there biggest game yet.

I'm guessing their going to wait a month or two after ODST's release before they show a true trailer for the game, so as not to take away from the hype or momentum of ODST.

I'm really hoping to a return to the vast Halo:CE type environments and just a massively epic campaign. Maybe something like 8 player co-op through full out wars, that would be fun as hell.
