Buddhism > Christianity confirmed! (?)

When looking at these religions fundamental belief systems, was this ever in doubt?

For me? Never, I just think this is the final nail in the crucif. . . errr coffin.

Note to self: Become a buddhist.

Buddhism is the only major religion out there that I actually like. They've got a pretty sweet thing going.

I believe (and I could be totally off on this, as its been a few years since my last philosophy class) Socrates or Plato used this same argument to support violent plays and stories. This, of course, makes me think that people like Thompson have existed throughout time, and have always looked like buffoons..

phnguyen - so your argument is based around you being unable to see the difference between striving for enlightenment and having already reached it. I think perhaps you should edit your post before too many people read it

No, I still stand at this point.

I believe striving for enlightenment comes from within, not some tool you can use.

Scenario: I really feel angry and want to kill something, I should play some video games.

That is such a great way of training yourself...not.

I am not arguing your point. Maybe you are right.

But this guy is genuine, just wanted to point out

Ooh, nice thread, and great article. Great to see all the Buddhism love going on in here. The only reason I'm not a Buddhist is because I can't accept the Middle Path. I prefer extremes in certain cases, and I need my tall bed and expensive jewelry. Like serving up some extreme hot justice in Super Spike V'Ball. Other than that though, everything about Buddhism is legit. I've been to several Buddhist temples in California and Japan, and took a really awesome college class on Buddhism. I can't get enough of the stuff. Buddhists don't start wars or genocides, and they don't even knock on my door! And if you ask a Zen master to teach you, they'll probably kick your ass! How can you hate a religion that isn't even trying to spread itself all across the planet to the rest of the heathen scum? And they don't even hate gays or video games? BRILLIANT.

Great post! Also, I spent so many hours just owning my neighbor in Super Spike V-Ball back in the day, what was it about that game that just made it so much fun? I spent the second most time on that game at my neighbors house, the most time spent was just trying to land my F-14 on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun, now that was a HARD game.
