Forums - Microsoft - My Xbox 360 Review 6 months later...

Just get an Elite kn...its better or you could buy the 120GB HDD.

I think the key thing for the 360 is not only are there over 70 games available with Metascores over 80 (including nine over 90+), but around 120 free demos and close to 100 Arcade games, each with free trial versions.

That is a lot of games.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

....And alot of free, fun gaming.

Heck, you could buy a X360, get a 20gb HDD, and download merely demos and trials (like you said, 220 demos). That'd probably keep you occupied for thousands of hours.

Talk about alot of free gaming!

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I will probably get an elite when the next true hardware model comes out.   I'm hoping for a 65nm cpu/gpu HDMI, and a case/brick "shrink".  I'll just deal with the 20 gigger for now.  It's plenty big enough to do everything I want, but I get lazy and/or stingy and hang onto demos too long.  I have played the Conan demo, for instance, about 5 times... stranglehold multiple times, and so on...   When I delete the crap and stay on top of housecleaning, the 20 gigger is more than sufficient for my gaming needs since I don't download media of any kind outside of demos.

 I'm guilty as charged!

Yep, 360 is just one of the most fun systems ever imo. And that is propelling it's increasing sales I believe.

BTW, one more thing... Since everyone seems to say that the 360 is nothing but shooters, that's just not true. There is a very diverse game lineup. Mr. Stick can probably break it down since I know someone did a recent analysis... That said, here's my must-have list of what I'm looking to purchase in the next 6 months (in no particular order)...

Mass Effect
Lego Star Wars Complete Saga
Lost Odyssey
Eternal Sonata
Too Human
Viva Pinata Party Animals
COD 4
Conan

There are at least a dozen more games in the next 6 months but I'll wait on reviews....

Kane and Lynch
Ace Combat
Time Shift
Bladestorm
Army of Two
Assassin's Creed
Beowulf
Kingdom under Fire
DMC4
Fallout 3
Brothers in Arms -- Hell's Highway
.... and that's just through 1Q2008

Those that say the 2008 lineup for the 360 are in denial. There are more great titles coming than any mortal can afford to buy....

The 360 is my primary console and its satisfying me every way possible.

WOW! Didn't know that the XBOX 360 could do THAT also ;)

I have mine for just a week and I'm really enjoying Blue Dragon; I really want more RPGs for the system though. Too many shooters for me :/

enchanted arms, eternal sonata, lost odyssey coming up next spring, oblivion, mass effect, two worlds and I'm sure there are others. Are you a JRPG fan only or do you like western RPGs? How about ActionRpgs? (my personal fav)
